Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using the Betta Health platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering an account or using the Betta Health platform (bettahealth.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not access or use the platform. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Betta Health Cameroon, a company registered under the laws of the Republic of Cameroon.

2. Services Provided

  • Second Opinion: upload your medical documents for review by a board-certified specialist, who will deliver a written recommendation within the target timeframe.
  • Video Consultation: a scheduled live session with a specialist via encrypted video call, including a written summary.
  • Referral Pathway: structured written guidance on recommended next providers, treatment centres, or advanced care pathways.
  • Drug Procurement Support (quote-based): assistance sourcing oncology medications not locally available, subject to a valid prescription. Betta Health acts as a coordinator, not a pharmacy.

3. Medical Scope and Limitations

  • Our services constitute specialist second opinions and advisory consultations — not primary diagnosis, emergency care, or direct treatment.
  • Specialist recommendations are intended to support — not replace — the judgment of your treating physician.
  • This platform is NOT for medical emergencies. In case of emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.
  • We do not prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, or admit patients to care facilities.

4. User Obligations

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering and submitting cases.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that any medical documents you upload belong to you or are shared with the patient's explicit consent (for referring doctors).
  • You must not share your account credentials or allow unauthorised access to your account.
  • You may not use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable medical or data protection laws.
  • Referring doctors confirm that they have obtained valid patient authorisation before submitting any case.

5. Payment Terms

  • Fees are charged upon case assignment to a specialist. Fixed prices apply to Second Opinion, Video Consultation, and Referral Pathway. Drug Procurement pricing is provided on request.
  • All payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store card details.
  • Prices are listed in EUR. Applicable taxes may be added based on your jurisdiction.
  • Payment confirmation is emailed to your registered address after successful charge.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

  • Cases may be cancelled within 24 hours of submission, provided no specialist has been assigned yet, for a full refund.
  • Once a specialist has been assigned and work has commenced, no refund is available for Second Opinion or Referral Pathway services.
  • Video Consultations may be rescheduled up to 24 hours before the scheduled session at no charge. Cancellations within 24 hours of the session are non-refundable.
  • If Betta Health is unable to fulfil a service due to our own operational failure, a full refund will be issued within 10 business days.
  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@bettahealth.com.

7. Intellectual Property

All platform content — including design, text, software, and specialist report templates — is the property of Betta Health Solutions GmbH. Specialist reports delivered to you are for your personal medical use only and may not be republished, sold, or shared publicly without written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Betta Health provides second opinions based on the information submitted. We are not liable for outcomes resulting from decisions made by you or your treating physicians based on these opinions.
  • Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question.
  • We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cameroon. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Yaoundé, Cameroon. For users in the European Union, applicable EU consumer protection and data protection regulations (including GDPR) are respected where required by law.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms. Registered users will be notified by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
